The presentation will be covering EBSQ Portfolio Best Practices. Though this might not seem on interest on the first glance to the art patron, it might interest you how things look from the artist's side of things. (And it never hurts to put in your 2 cents during the Q&A section at the end)
You can find out more information about the presentation here:

I hope to see you all there with bells on ;)
(As always - anyone who needs help learning the ropes on EBSQ just send me a hollar! krisjean@kjwebdesign.com)

Yeah Me!
I got those pre-lines on - she's hot.
well we all know I love the Nagel...................................
His graphic style entranced me when I was younger - i draw from his comp stylings and I find his work an inspiration.
I envy his PRECISION.
I hope to one day equal that level of preciseness with my own lining/edge work.
for the bargin basement price of $1.00 I purchased today THREE FRAMED PIECES
(litho - me thinks will de-frame and investigate later)
nice frame job too :D
I'm over the moon.
that makes it 33.333333333333333 cents each.
It was kismet!!!!!!!!
(Eat your heart out.)
(these are NOT small prints either we are talkin the large ones hehehe 24x36 me thinks guessin)
I might even bless you with a photo or two later.........we shall see.
Even if they are worth next to nothing - do I care NAH! They will hang with pride in my house.
You can't beat the price I paid with a stick.
These are after his death prints, but you know what - I don't care.
1. is for the release of the hardcover of the Nagel book.
2. is for the release of the softcover book.
3. (and the largest framed piece) was for the release of the Playboy Portfolio II.
AWESOME is all I have to say. even at 50 bucks a pop that wouldn't cover the frame job.
Over the weekend I found out my best friends dad was critically ill, been trying my best to help with that - but in those situations one never knows what to do or say........so my posting is a bit irratic again but will smooth out soon.
Here is the updated photo of the mermaid commision I've been promising..... :D
isn't she a beaut? I also have an update on my new pin up gal - shes still in sketching phase but will post a pic of her draw out soon. She's about a 1/4 done.

I've also been toying with the idea of doing some Lick-10-stein repros for myself we shall see where that goes ..........
-----------
t's been nice today, i've taken a little me time - getting ready to gear back up.
Sunburn is killing me but I'm fortunate it's only on my shins - hurts to walk lol and ankles are grapefruits - I will survive.
Tonight I'm going to start a new pinup sketch - originally it was going to be for the underware show but I'm running behind - the original sketch is so good it still needs to be done.
I do have to go dye my sis's hair first lol - after I go change clothes. All my shorts are dirty from the trip - I'm in a skirt, a nice flowy one. so I'm gonna go put on a dirty pair of painting shorts before I go over there.
---------------
Ive got a 2 canvases gessoed. One for a commission, one for a pin up (fur coat gonna be SWEET!) originally she was for the underware show but i didn't get it started in time. (so i entered to pin ups and an aceo I love.)
I have a purse to finish up - very patriotic - will show some pics when done.
Though the art side of me has been surpressed for a little bit because of the web side - I'm working on balance.
-------------
I took some photos on my trip - still have more to post but here is the first bit:
EBSQ Photography Gallery for Kris Jean

Shame you can't see my face..........grin from ear to ear.
She will post/pimp it soon.
She's so excited.
I'm so glad I could make this dream a reality!
we will see how long I can keep that up.
with me if i get into a routine GREAT! but if I screw up or miss it once - i'm done and it takes me forever to get back into the routine/habit. I'm weird. So if i don't post - you will have to beat me ;)
I'm finishing up http://beadedheron.com today - all that's left to do on it after I do my little thinger is she needs to finish loading her store...
She loves loves it and i think you guys will be pleasantly surprised by it too.
I'm proud of it :D (and the admin area rocks too!)
--------------
I also heard back about the mermaid commission - patrons LOVE LOVE it, i uploaded it to my EBSQ portfolio (but it's down right now) so I will post an image a little later on.
I also need to go and update the thread I started about it - oops! I was so anal about posting then dropped off (again like I said at the opening of the post lol)
I can be EXTREMELY anal about things (with no real reasoning - just that that's how I want it) but I can't ever keep them up, which is soo frustrating. I also have control issues. So when i hit that wall I just walk away. (and go into a manic mode about something else - no matter what's on my plate) In a way that makes me a little lucky because I would totally have an major OCD if that switch didn't flip off. BUT it makes me seem flighty and I dont like that. The unfinshed tasks sit until I'm mentally ready to go back to it - eating at me like acid.
in closing I'm weird and quirky...........
So as many peeps know back in the begining I didn't have good photographs of my work, most were piece scanned or photographed with a webcam.....so is life, when you start with nothing that is what you have nothing!!
so as I was sitting there today looking through my ebsq portoflio, i ran across one of my fave paintings and GOOD GRAVY it looked AWFUL!..
"leave the darkness behind" was one of the first abstracts i did, and it remains one of my best.
Sadly it was piece scan - and was over exposed, and put together incorrectly when piecing it back together. *sigh.........so since 2004 it's always haunted me that it's never looked as good as it should. I'm sure the patron ( ;) ) who purchased it from me was greatly surprised by it.
well finally after what 3 years I finally did something about it......
it used to look like this: (crap)
Now it's so pretty it took a long time to fix it, but I'm proud of my results!!!!
it feels like a total rebirth of the painting :D
(its still not perfect but OH SO MUCH BETTER!)
sooooooooooo if you are just starting out remember image quality is OF THE UTMOST IMPORTANCE!
(you will regret it later!)
How awesome is that?
Thank you very much Sam!
be sure to check out Eclectic Elements: http://www.eclectic-elements.com/default.c
I know i have neglected my blog - somebody spank me ...............please???
Kjwebdesign.com is now open
working on three webjobs......
working on two commissions.........
BUT!!!!!!!
I did finish Fantastical Fushia and entered it into EBSQ's Trashion show.
(pic is a little washed out because of sunlight) It is layed in a bed of my Grandmother's Violets. :D

and I also entered a self portrait into the EBSQ B&W Portrait show
which is still how I'm feeling.....It's called Critical Mass - I'm totally stressed right now
The juror for the B&W show is Derek Powazek VERY EXCITING!

I'm trying very hard to get unstressed - I think that is stressing me more LOL!
If you would like to take a peek you can see it here: http://Khur-Vay.Com
I also purchased: KJwebdesign.com to seperate my web design business from my art stuffs. The pages I make won't be any less creative - just not attached to my paintings website like they are now.
I will be doing all kinds of neat things like web design (duh), business cards, banners and even hosting websites.
SWEET!
Alone 8x10x3/4 Mixed Media on Wrapped canvas
It has a very long write up but..........
Short version is: it includes the names of all the bullies that gave me a hell of a time at school
................... and I plan to burn it
Long Version: http://www.ebsqart.com/Artists/cmd_2801_
The entire show is located here:http://www.ebsqart.com/ArtShows/sh_
